I'm strapped in my seat with my back to the world /
I can feel my heart pound in my ears coz I'm nervous /
Been working my whole life to sit there /
All I can see's green sky, breathe thin air /

Years of building it finally paid off /
Time to escape what's know as the place of /
The homo-sapien race; an oasis that came forth /
From the big bang to its main form /

Earth in it's current state: terminal /
The cancer was the humans walking it's surface till /
Every resource drained, now the world is still /
Coz most have left, now it's my turn to fill /

The atmosphere with the biggest of footprints /
Carbon of course; rocket fuel is the substance /
I'm abusing this once after losing my loved ones /
Way back in Twenty One Hundred /

The largest Tsunami in history /
Was started and parted Earth literally /
Carving the carcass to bits and we / couldn't do anything to chill the beast /
Mother Nature's wrath fully filled the scenes /

The vessel on which I'm sitting leaves the planet /
And if its a vivid dream / I can't seem to hack it /
What before was exhilaration hitting me's attacking /
Strictly fear filling me with madness /

I wanna get off, but I'm strapped down /
The intercoms distorting, I'm blacking out /
And now there's silence, though I feel the rockets pierce /
Through the turbulence as it breaches through the stratosphere /

I slowly pry my eyes apart /
To reveal the kind of dark / that doesn't glow despite the stars lighting our /
Path towards tiny Mars and way beyond our solar system's where the voyage starts /

All the space ports are derelict /
Won't be docking there I only hope my vessel makes the trip /
Coz light speed travel proper takes a toll /
Check the status and you guessed it, every gauge is broke /

A relic from the old days of star fleets /
Salvaged what I could from the scrap heaps /
Pray it holds together, will it last me? /
At least until I reach my destination, sending out a mayday, I can't breathe /

Summat's wrong with the pressure here /
And I'm running low on oxygen, better get my gear /
Step inside the suit, tearing at the gaffer tape /
Tryna seal the rips I've found; hope it holds together, pray /

So unique, was the blue planet /
So in-sync before humans could do t'damage /
Made in God's image? It's too tragic /
Destructive, the first world over-consumed, savage /

While the third don't see the food planted /
Super-powers aimed all their nukes at it /
And now they're probly aiming at a new planets /
But not the one I hope to be soon landing /

It's only fourteen hundred light years /
Kepler four five two, habitable, quite near /
Or so I tell myself, like I'm gonna make it /
Set the auto-pilot then hit the cryostasis /
