What you watching him for, why you watchin her /
Everybody's incomparable walking on the Earth /
They've got something that you're longing for /
And the difference is you want it more /
But opportunity in't knocking for the have nots /
They tell you all it takes is hard work /
And that's cause /
You're born in different circumstances /
To that lot /
Where doors are opened if you've got the key to't padlock /
And know the code word for the bouncer playin' back stop /
There to keep our kind of people out o't'clan what /
Seem to be in charge of everything and I've lost /
Hope again, 'cause we weren't born to the right folks /
with the right blood in our veins /
And that's bullshit, I'm calling it out /
Graft your way out of poverty, turn it around /
So quick to condemn black market entrepreneurs /
To some the only opportunity presented, I s'pose /
(chorus)
One rule for them /
And one rule for us /
And you can try and play it their way /
But you'll never run at their pace /
It's not a game they made for us /
Can't trust a thing /
From t'news room to Kings /
Tryna figure what t'agenda is /
The politics behind the messages /
What's the chances that they think we're thick? /
(2)
Now I'm not saying that I've had it rough /
Because I haven't, look /
But I can see it in my city where they've had to cut /
Or so they say and cover bases 'til they've passed the book /
Stretched the services who do their best to handle us /
People beggin' more, holding up a card and cup /
Sat in heavy traffic islands, breathin' all the carbon up /
We're nearing winter now; here's the moral obligation /
It's dark at 4, close your curtains on the situation /
Slowly brainwash and integrate with telly shows /
Another plasticised yet highly polished episode /
And here's what you coulda won /
I'd rather have a brick wall and bang my head against it, just for fun /
And draw a piece with my brain splatter, symbolism /
How it feels to see it, too preoccupied with living /
While their asset strippin', you can watch the problems grow /
Then you wonder why I've lost my hope /
(chorus)
One rule for them /
And one rule for us /
And you can try and play it their way /
But you'll never run at their pace /
It's not a game they made for us /
Can't trust a thing /
From t'news room to Kings /
Tryna figure what t'agenda is /
The politics behind the messages /
What's the chances that they think we're thick? /

Easily the most interesting and lyrically impressive new hip hop record I’ve heard for years. Had me grooving, smiling, agreeing with almost every word and brought a tear to my eye. My wife loves it and she won’t usually even have hip hop on. Gets better with every listen, I’m still discovering new little pearls in it. Great set of beats on it too. Top work mate.
Got to go back to the first album and discover that now. filauge
