lyrics
Blue lights flash through the rain on the glass /
One detained, the radio blasts /
Hands cuffed, rests his head on the pane while they ask all the obvious /
Remain silent, contemplating the consequence /
Caught red handed, left stranded /
So-called friends on the graft, guess that's it /
Know who your team is or isn't when the fan's hit /
Cogs turn to figure who's the bandit /
Doesn't listen when they ask him
What's in the back of the Transit, found several bags of the bad shit /
Someone pulled a stroke and they planned it, he wondered why /
Loyal to the cause, bottom rung to the ladders height /
A million and one things pass his mind /
'til he clocks a face, out the window, that he recognised /
Eyes narrow tryna work it out /
Introduced to him through an associate, he heard him vouch /
He's a friend of mine, shook hands and nodded heads /
And there began the plot unfolding as they planned the venture /
Dishonest trades attract a certain type /
And honour 'mongst thieves is the only rule that gets 'em by /
It's clear he's disrespected that /
Tricked by the undercover posing is a simple fact /
But what cooks his brain more than being gripped with gear /
Is the grass who set him up; and what he stands to gain this year /
He ponders all the factors, fuming is an understatement /
But the rage consuming isn't showing; keeps his face so vacant /
They book him in, he waves the phone call /
Looking at least 10 years and that's through no fault /
Of his own; always careful with associates /
Should have noticed it, something fishy, losing focus with /
What was going on; too much partying and being reckless /
What's he left with; a gym subscription and some nickel bracelets /

Easily the most interesting and lyrically impressive new hip hop record I’ve heard for years. Had me grooving, smiling, agreeing with almost every word and brought a tear to my eye. My wife loves it and she won’t usually even have hip hop on. Gets better with every listen, I’m still discovering new little pearls in it. Great set of beats on it too. Top work mate.
Got to go back to the first album and discover that now. filauge
